💡 Tips & Best Practices
🌍
Pro Tip: Use Google Earth Close-Up Photos
For the most realistic renders, grab a high-resolution close-up of the home from Google Earth and upload it as a photo. This gives the renderer 5-10× more detail than standard satellite views.
  1. Open earth.google.com and search the property address
  2. Zoom in close — until you can clearly see the roof shingles/tiles
  3. Tilt the camera (press R) to angle down at the roof
  4. Take a screenshot of the roof (Cmd+Shift+4 on Mac, Win+Shift+S on Windows)
  5. Upload the screenshot using the "📸 Upload Photo" option in the Roof Visualizer
📍
Position the House Carefully
Center the target roof in the frame. Drag the map pin to fine-tune. Zoom in close enough that the roof fills most of the view, but not so close you lose context.
☀️
Avoid Shadows & Obstructions
Trees, pool enclosures, and patio covers can confuse the renderer. Try repositioning the map to minimize obstructions over the main roof.
🎨
Match Color to Material
Some color/material combos look more realistic than others. Tile colors work best with curved tile profiles. Metal looks great in matte black, gray, or bronze.
🔁
Render Multiple Versions
Don't settle on the first render. Try different colors and materials. Show your client 2-3 options to help them visualize the best fit.
🏠
Mark Flat Sections
If the home has a flat patio cover or addition, mark "Yes — partly flat" in the confirmation step. This tells the renderer to treat those sections differently.
📸
Drone or Phone Photos Work Best
A clear photo from a drone or even your phone (from the street) often produces sharper, more detailed renders than satellite imagery. Especially for complex roofs.
Re-render if Imperfect
Renders vary slightly each time. If the first render has artifacts or odd geometry, click "New Address" and try again — the second attempt is often noticeably better.
💼
Use Renders to Close Clients
Show homeowners renders during the sales conversation. Visualizing the new roof on THEIR home makes them 3× more likely to sign.
⚠️ Important Reminder
All renders are conceptual visualizations. The final installed roof may differ in appearance due to lighting, weather, material batches, and installation methods. Always provide accurate measurements via professional inspection.

💡 How tokens work:
1 token = 1 render — whatever style you choose
• Tokens never expire
• Use them with or without a subscription
• Subscriptions are cheaper per render if you render often
